We’ve expanded Starshipit’s Recommended Packaging feature to work at checkout, helping you improve shipping accuracy, reduce costs, and provide better rates to your customers.

Previously, this feature only worked when orders were imported—but now, Starshipit can automatically determine the best packaging in real-time during checkout, ensuring live rates are as accurate as possible. For more details, check out our support article.

✅ Smarter package selection at checkout – Starshipit now assigns items to the most efficient packaging before rates are calculated, ensuring you don’t overpay or undercharge for shipping.

✅ Uses product dimensions from Product Catalogue at checkout. Starshipit matches SKUs with the Product Catalogue to retrieve item dimensions.

✅ Optimized for cost-saving – Our packing algorithm minimizes the number of packages while ensuring everything fits, selecting the most space-efficient packaging option.

✅ Live rate accuracy – The final package dimensions are sent to the courier, so the rate shown to customers at checkout is as close as possible to the actual shipping cost.

To start using Recommended Packaging at checkout:

1️⃣ Ensure your Product Catalogue is set up with product dimensions.

2️⃣ Set up your available packaging under Settings > Packaging.

3️⃣ Enable Recommended Packaging in Settings > Checkout Rates.
