I had this happen a while ago also and I believe for me the fix was reinstalling the app. Though I am not sure if it was something server/SSI side. While it was going on, I just added a # prefix as we use dedicated barcode scanners.
(Update: This just happened to me right now also and I can confirm reinstalling the app fixed the issue for me)
