I’d like to submit a feature request regarding how Starshipit handles orders that have been previously fulfilled in Shopify but are later updated due to exchanges.
We are using Shopify along with exchange/returns apps, and when an exchange is processed, Shopify updates the original order and marks it as partially fulfilled (even though it was previously fully fulfilled and shipped).
Currently, Starshipit does not re-import or recognise these orders once they move back to a partially fulfilled state. This creates a significant workflow issue, as we are unable to process the exchange shipment unless we manually delete the order in Starshipit and re-import it.
In a high-volume apparel business where exchanges (particularly size swaps) are very common, this becomes time-consuming and not scalable.
We would love to see a feature that allows:
• Orders that were previously fulfilled but are updated to partially fulfilled in Shopify to be recognised again in Starshipit
• Automatic re-sync or re-import of these orders without requiring manual deletion
• Or a setting/option to allow partially fulfilled orders (that have new unfulfilled items) to be treated as new fulfilment jobs
These orders are not partially refunded — they are partially fulfilled due to exchanges being processed on the same order.
Having this functionality would significantly improve workflow efficiency and reduce manual handling for businesses managing frequent exchanges.
